What is individual psychotherapy?

Psychodynamic therapy is effective in addressing mental and emotional difficulties, behaviours, and patterns.

Individual therapy can offer support for issues that deeply affect us. Discussing problems, emotions, and traumatic experiences can encourage a greater level of self-awareness, which may enable individuals to understand the root causes of their difficulties. Psychodynamic psychotherapy can be helpful with physical problems caused by stress and anxiety, sadness, panic disorders, depression, PTSD, anxiety, physical symptoms without a physical basis, sexual difficulties and loneliness.

Every year our trained therapists provide individual therapy to hundreds of people. Our clients tell us they experience a range of benefits, including a deeper understanding of themselves, increased acceptance, better recognition of symptoms, boosted confidence, improved self-awareness, the development of valuable coping skills and long-lasting, effective relief.

How do I access individual therapy?

We provide various options for individual therapy, such as psychodynamic therapy, psychosexual therapy, and group therapy.

All therapy sessions are scheduled once a week at the same time.  We provide a choice of working with your therapist online or choosing to see a therapist who could work with you in person at our centre in the City of London, near Liverpool Street station.

You can book a comprehensive consultation with one of our therapists via our online booking service. The consultation lasts 75 minutes, and you can discuss the issues that most concern you and think about what will be most helpful.

We're here to help with group therapy

We can all experience difficulties in our relationships from time to time, along with the feelings of stress and anxiety that arise from other difficulties that we face in our lives.

When we feel stuck with conflicts, misunderstandings or other problems and can’t find a way out of this ourselves, then we need some help.  Group therapy provides a safe and supportive environment where you can work with a trained therapist and other group members to gain new insights, perspectives, and strategies for managing your challenges.

Through sharing experiences and receiving feedback, you can feel less alone, gain a sense of validation, and practice new communication and problem-solving skills. Overall, group therapy can be a valuable resource for anyone feeling stuck with conflict, misunderstandings or struggling with personal or interpersonal challenges.

Psychosexual help

Psychosexual therapy assists individuals and couples experiencing sexual difficulties.

The therapy can openly examine all sexual issues whilst considering the emotional and psychological barriers that may exist.  Many people find it too challenging to discuss sexual problems with friends or family, so our therapists provide a secure space to freely explore intimate concerns.

Psychosexual therapy can help with improving intimacy, erection problems, rapid (premature) ejaculation, delayed ejaculation, difficulty in female orgasm, sexual arousal issues, differential sexual desire levels in a couple relationship, painful intercourse, sexual risk-taking behaviour and loss of sexual desire.
